You can view the Jewish Genealogical Society group on Facebook by going to the link.  However, you will not have access to all the information listed there and cannot post to the group without being a member of it.  Only those who join will receive notices that are sent through “Message to Members” via this group webpage.  

Once you’ve become a member of Facebook,  go directly to the JGS group by clicking on:
 https://www.facebook.com/groups/62112838856  or write Jewish Genealogical Society, NY in the search bar. Then in the upper right-hand corner click on “Ask to Join Group.” Once you are a JGS member on FB, just key in JGSNY in the search bar on your home page. .

To join Facebook go to https://www.facebook.com.  Follow the directions to join (no fee).  Many of us have connected with extended family and made some wonderful genealogical discoveries through this social networking utility.  However, if you prefer, your page can be kept completely private so that others cannot request to be a “friend.”   Most people like having others find them on Facebook, but you can become private by arranging this under “settings.”
