The Israel Genealogy Research Association (IGRA), with more than 2,600,000 records, makes available to the public a wide variety of material from the Ottoman period through the early years of Israeli Statehood, as well as additional material about Jews from the Diaspora located in Israeli archives. This lecture will guide you through the resources on the IGRA website and also discuss additional institutions and websites with genealogy records in Israel, including the Central Zionist Archives, Central Archives of the History of the Jewish People (CAHJP), Yad Vashem, Israel State Archives, Municipal Archives, Historical Jewish Press, and collections on MyHeritage.
Garri Regev has lived in Israel since 1978 and has been doing genealogical research for over 25 years. She is a founding member and President of IGRA (Israel Genealogy Research Association). She has taught seminars, webinars and courses in genealogy to a variety of adult and teen groups. In addition, she has spoken at eleven IAJGS Conferences and was involved in programming and running the 2015 IAJGS Conference in Jerusalem. Garri currently volunteers at the Genealogy Center at the National Library of Israel and the Central Zionist Archives and serves as a Director and Vice-President on the Board of LitvakSIG.
